School Life  »  School Lunch
School lunches are provided by Govinda's Ltd. The menu is 100% vegetarian and includes both western and Asian dishes.

All Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children have a piece of fruit or veg each day. Children can bring in water and fruit for a snack. Water bottles are available from the school office.

All Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children are entitled to Free School Meal (UIFSM). Year 3 onwards children have lunch provided at a cost of £2 (the agreed Redbridge cost is £1.99). We do not have packed lunches at our school in order to reduce the risk of sharing of food, which may be against individuals’ dietary requirements. Should you be entitled to Free School Meals, please complete the necessary documents and hand into the school office as soon as possible.

Children are strongly encouraged to stay for school lunch; they will be encouraged to try new food and supported to have a positive experience of eating socially at school. Staff are at hand to help children should they need it.

 

What if Ekadasi falls on a school day?

For pupils that observe the Ekadasi fast day, Govinda's will provide an additional meal option. This will be an Ekadasi 'equivalent' i.e. as similar as possible to the planned meal of the day.
